Cooling vest with cooling elements: operation, features and ordering
There are different types of cooling vests on the market. For example, depending on the situation in which the cooling vest is used, a cooling vest that cools by immersion in cold water can be chosen. Another cooling vest variant is the cooling vest with cooling elements. We would be happy to tell you more about the latter type of cooling vest.
How exactly does a cooling vest with cooling elements work? When do you choose a cooling vest with cooling elements and what is a good cooling vest with cooling elements? As a specialist in personal protective equipment (PPE), we are happy to explain.
Variants of cooling vests
Cooling vests come in different variants, working by different methods. In our range, we distinguish three different types of cooling vests:
- Cooling vest with cooling elements (Bodycool pro)
- Cooling vest by evaporation (Bodycool smart)
- Cooling vest by immersion (Bodycool basic)
The main difference between the cooling vest with cooling elements and cooling vests by evaporation or immersion, is that the cooling vest with cooling elements does not use cooling by ventilation. As a result, this type of cooling vest is also suitable for indoor use.
At the same time, it is the most suitable variant for professional use. The cooling vest with cooling elements can be worn under industrial clothing and provides constant cooling. This cooling vest is (precisely) also suitable for use in extreme heat conditions.

Explaining how to use a cooling vest with cooling elements
The Bodycool Pro is easy to use. We explain its use through three steps:
- First of all, the coolpacs should be cooled. This can be done in a refrigerator, for example. The coolpacs are ready for use when the liquid has solidified.
- When the coolpacs are cooled, they should be placed in the cooling vest.
- The cooling vest is now ready for use. Remember to tighten the straps around the waist properly and close them with the Velcro fastener.
The cooling vest with cooling elements will now cool the body for several hours. When the liquid in the coolpacs has melted again, they will no longer cool. By re-cooling the coolpacs, they can then be reused again.
Points of interest
- Order a spare set of coolpacs. That way you can alternate them and keep using the cooling vest continuously.
- The vest can be machine-washed, but not tumble-dried. You can let the cooling vest dry on a clothes hanger.
- Choose the right size. In practice, we see that cooling vests are often worn one size smaller, so they fit well.
